Since the 1930s, Young’s Auctions was a Camberwell Road institution; When the hammer fell for the last time in 2015 Camberwell lost an place of identity. In 2019 The same store reopened in mid-January as a wine bar and restaurant.

Parallel Workshop in collaboration with Elle Critchley turned the red bricked auction house into an aged yet sophisticated eatery;

Young’s Wine Rooms’ key ingredients were Aged atmosphere, European flavours, contemporary experiences, key inspiration throughout the design process; the matching of old with new, European Flavours with contemporary details, the outdoors and the indoors spaces all contributed to the final outcome that define young’s Wine Rooms.

The design outcome allowed patrons to step through the door and into a space that respectfully blends old and new, with brick walls and exposed beams now married with natural tones and contemporary textures.

Many of the build’s décor was salvaged from demolition and reinstated.

The building also welcomed a new feature courtyard which brought a little Mediterranean terrace with it; all to complement the vast array of European food, drinks and flavours.
